Lots of time while playing the ai on the most difficult level I thought "hey if I castle Id have an advantage." Only, an advantageous castling for me is never permitted. That frustrates me because the computer is castling as it pleases and I can not. I only gave you extra stars because I can play offline which lots of other chess apps dont allow...

This is a very nice chess set up.the graphics are on point.excellent tool for beginners and also works well wit experienced players.just to push the envelope further it would be interesting having a 3D appeal to it.

I liked Chess Free until a disgusting Trump ad popped up. I deleted immediately. What a shame since I was enjoying the game so much.

This game is sweet. The music is great too.

I played this game all the time and I kept increasing the level as I beat the computer. But I noticed that it was a lot of cheating going on. For example they will take a pawn that they didnt win. Also, they cheated and checkmate me when it was at check. I had three ways of getting out of check. But the computer put it at checkmate and I couldnt move. All I could do is stare at the game and see how they cheated. So I wrote this review and is deleting it off my phone.

Very good for person vs cpu game. Fast moves, smart cpu.

I honestly feel myself growing, getting smarter, and thinking ahead more. I have a lot trouble thinking ahead of the game, but I feel myself becoming more strategic and thoughtful.

The diffacolty is hard on easy

Multiple matches where the game would call checkmate even though it wasnt in checkmate. So after the second time I deleted the app and found better ones out there. So not bad for chess but there are better chess apps out there.

Every now and then Ill get something that is clearly a checkmate but the game will say it is a draw and I wont be able to move any pieces many glitches in this game get very annoying, needs to be fixed.

Keeps me happily occupied! The slider to adjust the level of play is really hard to pinpoint at a specific level. Thats the only thing I really dont like about the app.

A pawn making 3 + steps move like a bishop this happens when computer is loosing the game LOL........is crazy LOL

So far...So good...Great app. Simple with good options.

Ive been using this one for quick games. Overall it is okay. The ads are terrible though. Today i noted the computer making several illegal moves. I assume they are glitches in the code. An example is of the enemy capturing one of my advancing pawns via en passant....except the pawn that could make that capture was itself captured several moves earlier. Get it if you dont mind ads and pay attention.

This game has very easy to use controls. I can set the level to where I can just beat it, and then I can make it more challenging. Definitely worth a look. The ads are not a problem for mr because the app is free! I have yet to see it cheat. I wonder if users are forgetting basic rules like you cant put the king in harms way.

Why the hell does the game end as a "Draw by Stalemate" when clearly its Checkmate!!!! If the opponents King cannot move anywhere without being taken out that is Checkmate! By F***ing definition! Whoever developed the software must really not like to lose if they designed the game to instantly say its a draw when clearly the computer has lost. Absolutely Terrible. I wish I could give this one 0 stars....

The computer can castle, players CANNOT. Unless there is a way i havent tried. Other than this, it is an amazing game. 4 stars because i have lost many games due to the fact that players cannot castle.

The game wont let you win. If you get close to check mate or eliminate too many of the computers pieces it will default to a draw by stalemate.
